As a first generation Italian-American from the DePaul area of Lincoln Park in Chicago, Barry’s strong work ethic began when he was very young.  While growing up, his family worked to make a better life. Because of his strong family work ethic, Barry began working at the very young age of 10. His first jobs included delivering groceries and flowers, which helped pay for his grammar and high school tuition. After high school, he was very fortunate to land a job at a local printing company. He remained a printer for 11 years.  But one day he decided to make a serious change in his career path.

Not knowing where his future would lead him, in 1972 he was offered a real estate sales position by an owner of Ben Friend Realty. With virtually no experience, he became the #1 agent in Northwest Chicago in his second year in real estate. During his third year in the industry, he met Robert J. McMullen, owner of McMullen Realtors (established in 1945).  Barry partnered with Robert and ran the small 3-agent office and grew it to 7 agents in just a few years. When Mr. McMullen retired in 1980, Barry became the sole owner of the company. Along with General Manager John Guest, Barry grew the company to 15 agents and moved to larger quarters. And it was in 1983 when Barry bought a CENTURY 21 franchise.

Over the course of 30 years, Barry built up CENTURY 21 McMullen Real Estate, Inc. to be the #1 CENTURY 21 Office in all of Chicagoland and the entire state of Illinois, a top 10 CENTURY 21 Office in the country, and among the top 20 CENTURY 21 Offices in the world- with billions of dollars in lifetime sales. The company had over 180 licensed brokers, an experienced management team and a full-service support staff housed in a beautiful, state-of-the-art, 16,000sq.ft. building that Barry himself developed and rightfully named “Tuscany Terrace” to honor his Tuscan roots in Italy. The company prided itself on its customer-centric business model, with superior customer service at the root of its business. And, with the help of Barry’s youngest daughter Angela, the company continued to make advances in marketing and technology- keeping it not only a prime choice for brokers to establish a career at, but a fierce competitor in today’s market.

In 2017 the company became Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage - McMullen Office with Barry and Angela continuing at the helm as Managing Broker and Assistant Managing Broker. We're on to the next chapter with a new international affiliation.  Here's to what's yet to come!

Licensed as a Real Estate Broker in 1971, John is one of the few professionals who has continued as a full-time REALTOR® since then throughout the up and down markets in the industry. He joined CENTURY 21 McMullen Real Estate, Inc. in 1977 and has seen the company grow from only a few agents to what it is today. In his role as General Manager, John has helped the company become one of the most productive and successful companies in the CENTURY 21® System. With over 40 years of sales and management experience, John has earned a reputation for success based on his knowledge, skill, reliability, integrity and service.

Angela began her career at CENTURY 21 McMullen Real Estate, Inc. in 1996 working as a part-time secretary while in high school. As her industry knowledge grew, so did her responsibility within the company. Angela was the first to develop the company’s online presence in addition to many lead-generating marketing campaigns that followed. 
She worked at the company throughout college and graduate school. She obtained her BS in Business Management from DePaul University in 2002- graduating Summa Cum Laude and in the top 5% of her class. Angela then obtained her MBA with a concentration in Leadership and Change Management from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business in 2006- graduating With Distinction and in the top 10% of her class. 
Soon thereafter, Angela left the company and took on Management positions in various industries, including options trading on the CBOE, sports marketing and national media sales, and corporate pharmacy and healthcare marketing for a national drugstore chain- where she managed budgets in excess of $12,000,000. 
Angela returned to the company in 2010 and served as the company's Vice President of Business Development & Chief Marketing Officer, as well as a licensed real estate broker. She continues to develop and innovate all areas of the business- including managing and improving vendor relations, managing the support staff, and overseeing all marketing and technological functions in order to streamline operations, generate leads, and increase profits. Angela has helped lead the company in achieving historic local, national and global awards.


Shari Mack

Shari joined CENTURY 21 McMullen Real Estate, Inc. in 2003 and became the office’s Sales Trainer soon thereafter.  For 27 years throughout her career, she has helped salespeople to be more visible, competitive, profitable and effective – and to really enjoy what they are doing.  Shari is also a Real Estate Broker specializing in commercial real estate (land, multi-family and buildings) and residential referrals (new homes and investments).  Her career has involved marketing and developing long-term relationships as a Relocation Director with the CENTURY 21® franchise from 1985 to 2003 and as a Property Manager of her own company.  Shari’s professional designations are: ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative), BPOR (Broker Price Opinion Resource), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), E-Pro (Certified Internet Specialist),  FSS&R (Foreclosure, Short-sale &   REO Specialist), GRI (Graduate of the Realtor’s Institute)and SSP (Short-sale Professional).
